“To Begin the World Over Again: The Life of Thomas Paine” A one-man play written and performed by Ian Ruskin Though Thomas Paine is often invoked by politicians of all political stripes, Americans rarely have the experience of engaging in a sustained way with the thoughts of this pivotal figure in the American and French revolutionary movements. Ruskin brings Paine to life, and after the performance is able to lead a captivating question-and-answer period with the audience. Following Ian’s two recent performances in Paris, he is partnering with AMERICA2026, a collective of scholars from France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and America, who are organizing conferences across Europe celebrating America’s birth and Europe’s connection to it. Ian will perform the play at their closing conference in Paris, in October 2026. See attached document for further information. Remember to send us your publication news so we can spread the word!
