The AMERICA 2026 consortium gathers French, European, Mexican, and American historians, political scientists, specialists of literature, and a museum curator, senior and junior scholars as well as doctoral students, who specialize in the history and cultures of the seventeenth-, eighteenth-, and early nineteenth-century United States and the Atlantic World. Most members of the consortium have been working with one another for some time.
Women stand for 40% of the people involved in the consortium and some of them occupy key positions, as over half the consortium’s committees are headed by women academics. 50% of the members of the steering committee are also women (4 out of 8 members).
The America2026 community is much larger than the initial consortium. Over 300 scholars and professionals are registered to receive our monthly newsletter, located in Europe, United States, Japan and China. Our community also includes academics, but also teachers, journalists and radio and magazine editors eager to take part in our events or simply pass on the information to their own stakeholders.
