Scholars may propose papers or panels, with a range of methodologies and themes. We are especially interested in work that focuses on peoples and places that have received less attention from scholars of the Revolutionary era, especially Asia, India, West Africa, Quebec, Nova Scotia, Ireland, the Caribbean, and Latin America. Work that crosses imperial and historiographic boundaries and uses comparisons or connections to put the American Revolution in broader dialogue is especially welcome.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>&nbsp;Topics may include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Causes and consequences of revolution<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Loyalism, Royalism, and other forms of counter-revolution<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Empire and imperial governance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Slave trade, slavery, other systems of coerced labor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Antislavery activism and self-liberation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Women, children, and families<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Changing gender ideologies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>East India Companies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Commerce and global trade<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ideological and intellectual intersections with the global imperial crisis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enlightenment influences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Political economy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The transition to capitalism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The rise of nation states<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The effect of global empire on metropolitan life and society<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Material and print culture<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u200b\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Submit proposals for papers or panels by email to&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:global76@hku.hk\">global76@hku.hk<\/a>&nbsp;or through the link below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Provide a 250-word abstract for each paper and a c.v. for each participant.
